The beautiful honey-coloured Cotswold stone farmhouse dates back to the 17th century, yet stepping through the door reveals a seriously stylish retreat, with country luxe interiors designed by Todhunter Earle of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons fame. The beautiful original features are combined with cool clean lines and a neutral palette with dashes of colour, creating a luxurious retreat without a hint of pretence. This is a place to savour morning coffees as mist rolls over the hills, to kick off muddy wellies after bracing walks through the estate, to pop open the champagne or simply curl up with a good book in front of the fire.

The award-winning spa is the jewel in the crown of the Dormy estate, a vision of contemporary design with a sleek 16m indoor infinity pool, a candlelit terrace hydrotherapy hot tub, and a Scandi style thermal suite featuring lavender and juniper saunas, salt infused steam room, an ice experience and an experience shower. Treatments are provided by Natura Bisse, Temple Spa and Pure Massage, with expert therapists that will leave you floating on air. There is also a couple’s suite and a Rasul mud room, along with a gym with personal trainers available.
The Greenhouse is a chic lounge bar in the Spa, a stunning room with floor to ceiling bifold doors and outdoor terrace perfect for relaxing in the sunshine, and a beautiful suspended log burner making the room wonderfully cosy in winter time. There is also a Veuve Clicquot nail bar to round your experience off in style. Please do note that all guests have access to the spa, however, should Dormy House be taken on an exclusive use basis, the spa wouldn’t be part of the exclusivity and would remain open to its members.
Dormy House features three main lounges, all individually styled with sumptuous seating, roaring fires and a wonderfully relaxed feel, so you can kick back and put your feet up after a day spent exploring the local area. The Yellow Lounge is a delightfully cosy room, with its vast stone fireplace, wooden beams and exposed stone walls, whilst the Blue Lounge has a lovely light and airy feel with wood panelled walls and a beautiful Victorian fireplace.
The Red Lounge leads from the Blue Lounge, another lovely cosy room with a huge fireplace which opens through to the reception area beyond. The Back Garden is Dormy House’s fine dining restaurant, which has its own entrance but can also be accessed via the Red Lounge and offers a stunning glass-walled space overlooking the beautiful gardens to seat up to 70 people. This versatile space can also be used for meetings, product launches or dancing, flooded with natural light it is a beautiful and inspiring space for all kinds of events and can be combined with a marquee on the adjoining walled garden.
There is a cosy private dining or meeting room adjacent called the Top Table, ideal for up to 14 guests, whilst the Potting Shed normally serves as the venue’s Brasserie and bar, a lovely room with exposed stone walls, rustic beams and farming memorabilia as a nod to Dormy House’s past. There is a semi-private dining room called the Sun Terrace and a further private dining or meeting room called the Tack Room leading off the Potting Shed, with lovely wood panelled walls, a stunning contemporary fireplace and space to seat 16 people.
The 38 bedrooms and suites are flawlessly designed with incredible attention to detail, a vision of Cotswold loveliness combined with retro chic. The neutral colour palates are complemented with bold geometric prints and pops of colour, and all rooms feature luxury en-suite bathrooms with Temple Spa bath products, bathrobes and slippers, and there is free WiFi throughout.
The rooms range across three categories, however, even the smallest are still spacious. There are 8 suites at Dormy House in addition to the Scandi style courtyard suites, which all feature outdoor hot tubs on their private terrace. For those requiring complete privacy, Rose Cottage is a lovely stand-alone cottage in the courtyard with hot tub, a separate lounge and outdoor table and chairs.
Dormy House is set in the Farncombe Estate, with over 500 acres of grounds to explore, and wellies are provided for guests. The wider estate affords excellent opportunities for activities, from traditional country pursuits such as clay pigeon shooting and falconry, to motorised sports. There is also Broadway Golf Course adjacent, and the renowned Cotswold Way offers miles of beautiful walking paths.
