Goodwood House is an exquisite, exclusive use stately home, set in manicured parkland at the centre of its 12,000 acre estate near the South Downs National Park. The magnificent House is one of the most glorious examples of its period, with the lavish State Apartments playing host to incredible celebrations for the last three centuries.
Today, guests are offered the opportunity to take over this historic house as your own, with all nine beautiful State Rooms and your very own team of private butlers at your disposal. Whether you are looking to host a decadent ball, a lavish banquet or an intimate gathering of your nearest and dearest, you can be sure of world-class service and hospitality.
The interiors here are full of elegance and grandeur, with luxurious fabrics, beautiful furnishings and one of the most impressive art collections of any private residence in Britain. The vast windows afford stunning views over the manicured parkland, flooding the House with natural light, and once darkness falls, the House comes alive with roaring fireplaces, glinting chandeliers and gently flickering candlelight.
From the opulence of the gold-gilt Ballroom to the charm of the cosy Music Room, Goodwood House offers a truly memorable, once in a lifetime experience of English high society living, in surroundings fit for a king or queen.
Your dedicated Event Planner will help you plan and deliver your event to perfection, with the smallest of details taken care of so you can fully relax and enjoy the experience as much as your guests. The House can seat up to 180 guests for formal dining, or up to 500 for a standing reception, although there are beautiful intimate spaces for smaller gatherings too. Evening entertainment can of course be arranged, with anything from live bands to circus acts to opera performances.
The Head Chef will work with you to produce a menu to your exact tastes and specification, using locally sourced ingredients including award-winning organic produce from the Estate’s very own farm. The Duke’s elegant collection of fine china, glassware and candelabras add to the sense of occasion, or let your imagination run riot with a host of superb suppliers on hand to create your vision of the perfect event.
The beautiful grounds offer ample opportunities for activities, and the famous Goodwood Estate encompasses no less than two golf courses, an aerodrome, a motor race circuit and a horse racing track. Blast away the cobwebs with a supercar track day, relish in the challenge of a real off-road driving experience in one of the Estate’s fleet of classic Land Rovers, or learn to fly a plane under expert tuition. There is also a health club at the Estate’s hotel with a spacious indoor pool, jacuzzi, gym and spa treatments available.
Whilst Goodwood House itself does not offer any bedrooms, accommodation is available at the Goodwood Hotel with 91 en-suite bedrooms, located just one mile from Goodwood House with transport arranged for guests. There is also the exclusive-use Hound Lodge, a beautiful 10-bedroom private country residence, again around one mile from the house which comes with its own private chauffeur, butler and chef.
The Hotel offers a total of 60 double and 31 twin rooms, whilst in Hound Lodge there are 9 doubles and 1 twin bedroom. Therefore a total of 133 guests can be accommodated across the Estate with one person per bed, or 202 on double occupancy.
