Kirtlington Park is a beautiful Palladian mansion nestled in a substantial private estate in Oxfordshire, just one hour from London and with excellent accessibility from London Heathrow. Built in 1746, the house is full of period charm and stunning original features, with breath taking high ceilings and vast picture windows flooding the house with natural light.
Recently restored to its former glory, the house offers elegance and grandeur in abundance, yet remains very much a family home, your home, for the duration of your stay. Only available on an exclusive use basis to ensure your utmost privacy, this beautiful country estate offers a tranquil oasis, surrounded by verdant parkland offering far reaching views. The gardens were designed by the noted Capability Brown and extend to 25 acres with lawns, terraces, an ornamental lake, wildflower meadows and woodland.
The grand state rooms create a wonderful setting for special occasions and events, able to seat up to 110 guests in the Great Hall or 100 in the Saloon, with direct access to the terrace and lawns and a beautiful Grand Piano. Yet there are cosy spaces too, from the famed Monkey Room with its incredible frescoed ceiling to the elegant Drawing Room and the Library, providing the perfect place to curl up by the fire after bracing country walks.
The beautiful Dining Room seats 18 guests for more intimate meals, with a stunning antique table and original fireplace adding to the atmosphere.
The 13 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms have all been recently refurbished in a traditional country style, many with far reaching views over the surrounding countryside. Most offer en-suite or private bathrooms, along with tea and coffee making facilities. The master bedroom is a particularly impressive room with a stunning hand carved four poster bed and vast en-suite bathroom with a freestanding roll top bath and separate walk-in shower.
The superb amenities make Kirtlington Park ideal for family holidays, with a games room with table football, billiards, table tennis and darts, and a small but well-equipped gym. Outside, guests can perfect their swing on the tennis court, enjoy a spot of croquet or badminton, or simply explore the acres of private grounds. There are a variety of activities possible in the estate and the local area, including horse riding, polo, archery, clay shooting, golf, track days, visiting the city of Oxford, Blenheim Palace, along with mile after mile of beautiful walks through the English countryside.
Please note there is a neighbouring residential property near the front of the house, and as such there are external noise restrictions in the evening, although please rest assured the house and its grounds are entirely private.
