Temple Guiting is an ideal base to explore this beautiful region, with proximity to many famous towns including Broadway, Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold.
This ancient barn was redeveloped over the course of a year by the designer Sophie Conran in conjunction with the celebrated architect and listed building specialist Ptolemy Dean. The results are stunning, with beautiful interiors that maintain the integrity and origins of the building. Exposed oak beams and glimpses of Cotswold stone walls are combined with soft hues, crystal chandeliers and an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furnishings to create a sophisticated and luxurious retreat in a tranquil Cotswold village.
The five sumptuous bedroom suites have all been individually designed and all feature en-suite bathrooms for your comfort and privacy.
The fabulous double height drawing room features some amazing antique furniture, from a vintage 40s Danish leather sofa to a Florentine painted cabinet, coupled with some unique design features such as an exquisite carved mirror above the open log fireplace that slides back to reveal a plasma television at the touch of a button. There is ample comfortable seating on plush velvet sofas and upholstered reading chairs, a stylish table and chairs perfect for card games and unique art work adorning the walls. Double French doors lead out to the terrace and delightful courtyard garden complete with hot tub and beautiful rural views. There is also a suspended gallery above the drawing room with a desk and chairs and free internet access.
The sleek open plan kitchen and dining room has state-of-the-art facilities and combines modern clean lines with exposed oak beams and pale colours. One wall facing the courtyard is almost entirely glass, flooding the room with natural light and providing a beautiful backdrop. The long rustic dining table can seat up twelve people in comfort and is ideal for entertaining, or venture to the terrace with its large table and chairs for a spot of alfresco dining.
In addition there are three bedrooms on the ground floor. The Gold Bedroom has a regal feel with a super king sized bed and an exquisite canopy from luxurious gold brocade fabric. There are beautiful exposed stone walls and oak beams, with an antique double seat. The en-suite wet room has a walk in shower with limestone tiles to the floor and walls. The French style Blue Bedroom has a super king zip and link bed which can be arranged as twins on request, with a beautiful antique day bed, dressing table, two upholstered chairs and an en-suite shower room. The African Bedroom again has a super king zip and link bed which can be arranged as twins on request, African artefacts, leather chairs and a dressing table. The en-suite to this bedroom has a freestanding bath with shower attachment.
On the first floor, the Pink Bedroom is a romantic and girly room set in the eaves with a super king bed, soft pink day bed and beautiful crystal chandelier, whilst the en-suite bathroom has a double ended bath and a low ceiling. The White Bedroom is a spacious room with super king zip and link beds that can be arranged as twins, leather sofas and an en-suite bathroom with roll top bath.
The wonderful private courtyard garden has been designed by the award winning Jinny Bloom.
There is a beautiful terrace with benches and a table and chairs perfect for dining alfresco with food from the barbeque. Pretty flower beds and intricate topiary lead to a stone terrace with a cedar hot tub, surrounded by the delicate scent of lavender. The peacock garden is laid to lawn with beautiful wild flowers and gorgeous views over rolling countryside to the lake below.
The is also access to an all-weather full sized astroturf tennis court, which is shared with the guests at Temple Guiting Manor.
